Who We Are

Timber Dental is a locally-founded, dentist-owned group practice and our goal is to provide an outstanding experience to our patients.

Locations

Since 2014, we've expanded to four locations and we plan to keep growing! We are looking for team players with big ideas and strong work ethics who can grow with us.

Technology

We're a paperless environment with digital patient forms and charting, digital x-rays, 3D conebeam imaging, iTero digital scanning, and other new technologies.

People

Our goal is to provide an outstanding experience. We know "the human touch" matters. We even offer locally roasted coffee in our lobby.

Meet the Team

Dr. Matthew Kathan

I met my wife (and co-owner of Timber Dental), Dr. Molly, in Omaha, Nebraska while we were in dental school together. If I’m not working, it’s a safe bet that I’m fishing or foraging on the coast with my family.

Dr. Molly Marshall

I’m a fourth-generation dentist, I love my job. I’m co-owner of Timber Dental with my husband, Dr. Matt. When I’m not at work, I love to cook with my two little ones!

Dr. Peter Garcia

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Garcia is one of the most established Invisalign providers in Portland, and a valuable asset to the Timber Dental team.

Dr. Sharifah Eid

Dr. Eid loves to travel any chance she gets and recently she’s been getting into photography. She’s new to Portland and she’s excited to work Downtown so she can meet new people in the city.

Dr. Dar Afshar

Dr. Dar was raised in Salem. He did his undergrad at UO before going to Midwestern university for grad and dental school. In his free time he enjoys generally being active and watching Duck Football with friends and family. He has been practicing for 7 years with an expanded skillset in endodontics.

Dr. Heather Nicholas

Dr. Heather’s bounced all around the west coast. Born in California, later moved to the Willamette Valley then Seattle. She loves spending time with her 90lb lap dog, Pucci, going to concerts, or supporting local restaurants, wineries and breweries (especially the dog-friendly ones).

Dr. William Garcia

Dr. Will grew up in Detroit, MI and moved to the PNW last year. He went to undergrad at Michigan State University and dental school at the University of Detroit. Since he’s moved here, he’s gotten into disc golf and plays three to four days a week. He enjoys going to concerts and local shows.

Dr. Andy Burton

Dr. Burton (DMD, DABOI/ID, FAAID, FADII) has been practicing full mouth reconstruction and implant dentistry since 2006. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry. He was awarded the Fellow from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in November 2021, he was an Associate Professor at the Advanced Dental Implant Institute in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Burton founded Implant Masters, a dental implant mentorship program.

Dr. Gideon Prasanth Kodali

I am an International dentist from Southern part of India. I have a one year old son and I enjoy spending time with family and playing with my son. I was always passionate about dentistry and I love to bring smiles to my patient and establish a life long relationship.

Dr. Pauline Flamion

Dr. Pauline was born in Belgium; grew up in Grenoble, France but spent most of her life in Michigan. She loves to explore the PNW with my husband. They love hiking whether it’s the Gorge, Mt. Hood, the coast! She loves visiting National Parks and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Michele Martin

Dr. Martin says “the best part of my profession is helping my patients overcome their fears and educating them so they can keep their smile healthy.” She loves that dentistry allows her to meet new people every day and help people improve their health, confidence, and self-esteem. In her free time, she loves crafting (knitting, sewing), baking, and cooking.

Dr. David Chen

Dr. David Chen is a Portland, Oregon native, born and raised in the heart of the city. He completed his undergraduate studies at OSU and earned his doctorate from OHSU. In his free time, Dr. Chen enjoys exploring local food spots and discovering new cuisines. He maintains an active lifestyle by playing tennis and working out. Dr. Chen is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. He is a lifelong learner who appreciates traveling to seek out new experiences and opportunities for personal growth.

Dr. Jennifer Teng

Dr. Teng grew up in Southern California and attended the University of Southern California for dental school. She then served 3 years as a dentist in the US Air Force before moving to Oregon to practice dentistry. She is passionate about treating patients with gentle care and integrity as well as creating an overall comfortable experience. In her free time she loves spending time with her husband and 2 kids as well as restoring old furniture.

Dr. Nellab Hashimi

Dr. Hashimi grew up in Long Island, New York. She graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Charles Hospital in NY. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with family. She’s excited to discover all the beauty Oregon has to offer.
